Looking for a tiny home getaway from Portland? Somewhere you can leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind? A hassle free place you can bring your dog and have piece of quiet in the woods? Somewhere fully furnished, still has a bathroom, an outdoor campfire, and will go above and beyond showing you and your pup love? Well, I have just the place for you! Check out Getaway Mount Adams. This tiny home getaway near Portland will literally want you on a monthly subscription to make sure you are getting your monthly “me” time.
I have stayed at Getaway now more times than I can count and absolutely have loved every experience. The Getaway Campground makes it easy to leave your worries behind as they are fully stocked in the kitchen and cellphone lock box to make sure you’re not getting distracted by your phone (not like you’ll have service anyways!) Each tiny home comes with a picnic table, hammock, and kitchenette with propane burner, dishware and cutlery, and you can pay a little extra for dog snacks, “experience kits,” s’mores kit, and “sustenance” options which include pasta and soups! For dogs, they provide food and water bowls, snacks, and poop bags- can it get any better!? Look here to see what else is included!
When booking your reservation, you will see there are different options. Some have a single queen accommodating 1-2 people and others come as a bunk to accommodate 4 people. Let me tell you, these beds are the most comfortable beds you will ever had been on. After my first stay with Getaway, I instantly emailed them to ask for the mattress and mattress cover. Now, I sleep on the exact same bed! Hint: The bed is the Zinus Green Tea Mattress! SOOOO comfortable!
One important thing to note is though this is a “getaway” you are actually going be in one big ‘tiny home village’ so you will see other cabins in your loop, but I feel like it’s still incredibly isolated!
Now, as you won’t have service on your trip you will need to do a little bit of pre-planning. Moreover, I suggest checking to see what’s around (if you desire to explore), downloading the map after the address has been provided, or figuring out what hikes/restaurants are “nearby.” On the flip side, you may just want to reserve the tiny home and build a campfire all weekend!
For an extensive list of hikes and things to do nearby, check the guide here. I have tried many things from that list, but have also just found taking the car out and exploring nearby roads has also been fun! On that list I have really enjoyed getting pizza and beer from Backwoods Brewing Company in Carson. I like bringing it back to the getaway for Friday and Saturday night. Then, on Saturday I would explore the Columbia River Gorge and short hike/walk of Panther Creek Falls. If you’re feeling up to a long hike, then Sleeping Beauty Trail or Dog Mountain (difficult).
Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, solo getaway, adventure with friends, or family time, this tiny home getaway near Portland will have you coming back for more. I hope you learned from this blog and will consider the Getaway for yourself! The good news is, even if you’re not in Portland they have 25+ Getaways around the United Stated! Check here for one that is closer to you!
